Excellent blades February 18, 2008 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
The Derby blade (made, I believe, in Turkey) is not the sharpest blade out there but, in my mind, achieves the perfect balance between sharpness and smoothness: Sharp enough not to snag on tough bristles, but not so sharp as to make cuts and soreness inevitable. 100 of these will give you over a year of shaves - I find I can get at least five shaves out of a single blade with no decline in quality.
A great blade at a resonable price September 11, 2008 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
These Derby blades are very highly regarded on the shaving forums, and I have found that that is deserved. The price is a real good value for the quality of the blade.
There are many brands available, but I haven't found the need to change from Derby.
Blade quality seems descent, value is awesome. May 29, 2008 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I mainly switched to DE shaving because of the price difference compared to upkeep for a Mach 3. Heh, well this is a good example. $18 for a year supply compared to $11 for a pack of 5 Mach 3 blades to last roughly a little over a month.. yeah.. The shave these give out is descent; much better though when compared to the Parasienne (or however it is spelled) blades I purchased at Wal-Mart. Oh, and just to put things into perspective, Mach 3 shaves are poor compared to these.
Excellent quality and durability July 28, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Derby Extra are excellent quality razor blades, sharp, smooth and durable. There is no excuse anymore for using Mach3 or Fusion.
Swedish made September 18, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Using a double edge safety razor like this is good for your wallet and the environment. For roughly $16 you get 100 blades, which if you were buying those plastice refill blades the same amount would cost you about $220 - 20 times more. They are manufactured from stainless steel with a Platinum and Chromium coating. These blades are made in Sweden and give a much closer shave than disposables. Barbers use this type of blade. Try these with a Parker razor and you will never go back to plastic again. I said they were god for the environment too, because not only do you have less waste without the plastic but you can take used blades to art stores as most recycle art blades.
