If you use your PDA for long periods of time with no way to plug into a power outlet, you'll want an extra battery. You simply remove the spent battery and install the fresh one. Many people use an extra battery when on long flights. If you listen to MP3s and play games continuously, you'll want to purchase an extra.

I got the second battery for my Zaurus and it was one of the best investments I made. The Zaurus uses quite a bit of power, so it's great to have a spare on hand. I also got the battery charger, so when I'm done with one battery, I just pop it in the recharger and go on.

Lithium Ion Battery for Sharp Zaurus SL-5500 August 3, 2005
After reading the reports that the SL-5500 is hard on batteries, I decided to get a backup battery. Came in very handy when I used my Zaurus to help me keep my schedule organized at a recent convention.
