Works, but not as well as some would like. November 30, 2008 I bought this to work with a Bluetooth phone as a speakerphone, to cut down on cell phone radiation to the head. For this purpose it will work well, as long as you don't turn the volume up loud enough to have the caller hear their own voice echo back to them. Once the volume was reduced, it worked pretty well. The caller has to be asked to speak up in order to get enough volume out of it. As for using it as a Bluetooth speaker, it would work pretty well as long as you don't have a Bluetooth mouse on the same system. When you move the mouse, you would get interruptions in the sound. Also, the range is not 33 feet. Even with it plugged into a wall outlet, its range was no more than 10 feet in open air. If you pass a wall, forget about it, the range is cut down far more through walls. The sound quality is pretty good, but if you have to have it so close, I would suggest a JBL product that I own and love, or the Saitek A-100 which I also have and love. The Saitek has awesome sound for a very compact speaker that will run from batteries, or a wall wart. The wall wart does not come with it, but the batteries last a while. It turns off as soon as you disconnect it from the computer. The JBL as the best sound, but is bigger and comes with a power adapter, and costs more than the Saitek. There are reasons to buy the Saitek and not the JBL, and the best of them is the size, price and performance ratio. It is what some call, "The Best Bang for the Buck" , BBB for short.
Good speaker not so good mic November 19, 2008 This speaker provides good sound. I have had people tell me that they had trouble hearing me when I tried using it to make calls. The mic is located on the bottom of the device. I think this is the reason it doesn't pick up sound very well. I didn't really get this to talk on though. It pairs very quickly with bluetooth enabled PC's and phones. The speaker is excellent especially for the price.
Good Sound, average range September 23, 2008 These speakers work well, and I like the fact that they use AA batteries instead of an internal rechargeable. That way, I can just put in new batteries and keep right on going when not near a plug-in. I'd give five stars if the device had extra-long range-- what's there is just barely enough for my needs.
Great little gadget! September 17, 2008 I bought this to use with a little eee901 netbook - it is great! just push the little button on top and it hooks itself up to the computer. Great sound, it has controls on it for volume up/down, and for pause, ff, & rew that work fine with Windows Media Player.
Makes listening to movies and music on the netbook very nice.
I haven't tried it with batteries yet (4x AAA's) - it comes with a wall wart AC plug.
Bluetooth speaker June 26, 2008 I like this speaker very much, but the size is bigger than I thought. Very useful! Can be use for portable speaker for any MP3 with 3.5mm jack. Use bluetooth as wireless speaker. Need 4 AA battery or external power supply which come with the product.
