Amazon.com Product Description The sheer fun of the iPod is celebrated with iWoofer, a fresh take on the iPod speaker and docking system. The smallest iPod speaker with radio, the iWoofer features a 2.1 stereo speaker system, an FM radio with auto scan tuning and presets, audio in for connecting external devices, and a fun sci-fi appearance. Hello there! | Fits most iPod models (iWoofer nano is also available for nano users). | Form Factor Fun The first thing one notices about iWoofer is its "face" and four legs, like a strange sci-fi creature awaiting iPod insertion. iWoofer matches your fun-loving lifestyle, and your friends will get a kick out of it as well. Good Looks and Good Sounds, Too Those "facial features" are arranged that way for a reason. Those eyes are two 3-watt satellite speakers: 30mm full-range drivers with neodymium aluminum speaker cones. That mouth is a 6-watt downfiring subwoofer: a 2.5" dedicated low frequency driver. That antenna? Well, it's an antenna. It's there to ensure good FM reception. FM Radio The iWoofer features an FM Radio with auto scan tuning and preset station memory. The auto scan feature makes fun use of the iWoofer's blue lights, as you can see in this demo (features the white model). iPods and More The iWoofer is compatible with all versions of iPod 2G onwards and the iPod shuffle (using the included adapter). It features charging and synchronization, and by elevating your video iPod, it makes video viewing a pleasure. Don't have an iPod? The iWoofer can also be used with other audio devices via its "audio in" cable. Finally, it's extremely portable, and can be powered with 4 AA batteries or the included AC adapter. What's in the Box? iWoofer, AC adapter, and audio in cable

Iwoofer February 23, 2008 I love the sound quality and the looks of this cute little thing, and it takes a lot less space than my old boombox. The only drawback is the difficulty of tuning the radio. It took me 20 minutes of patient maneuvering to finally reach the station I desired. I preset it pronto to avoid having to repeat the procedure.

Purchased this little item just for its design knowing full well it was not going to have superb sound, but most audio players don't. It works well for its size and fills an entire room easily. I am pleased with the purchase made in conjunction with Target; however, the Raindesign web site refused my serial number as a valid number. I hope I do not have problems with this later on.
Great little radio! December 20, 2006 10 out of 11 found this review helpful
This little radio is perfect for what it is. A small, portable, fun little iPod (and radio) speaker.
Are you going to get HUGE bass or perfect sound out of this? No, but you are going to get some good quality sound in something that looks good on your shelf or travels well. People will ask about it when they see it.
The sound quality is as good as, or better than, the other portable iPod speakers I have seen and you can connect other devices up via the audio jack in the back.
The fact that your iPod charges while it is on the dock and they send you all the little adapters, connectors, sprockets, and do-dads this little radio is a winner for me.
The only question I have left for it is how long will it run? I have only had it for a week now but it seems well built, it has a solid construction, the legs are metal with rubber feet, the front speakers are covered by a metal grill and the majority of the rest of the construction is plastic. It is my opinion that they packed a lot of good sound into this small device (the big woofer is on the bottom to take advantage of the space).
It seems a bit costly but I wanted something that looked fun and had some good sound so I went with the iWoofer (after visiting the Rain website and viewing the reviews).
RainDesign I-Pod Speaker is EXCELLENT August 31, 2006 13 out of 13 found this review helpful
I had at work JBL On Stage Speakers for iPod and when I played it very low (I am working in a cube and everyone hears everything) all I heard was static it plays well when you blast it. A co-worker cried for those speakers for 4 months non-stop for me to pass it on to her because she could not buy them herself, so finally for her birthday I gave it to her and she was very happy. So that left me without anything to hear all day long. I only lasted 1/2 a day and bought the Rain Design iWoofer...never been HAPPIER! It is a clean clear sound that even at its lowest plays so well you think its a big unit not this small little cute thing. I love my alien face, the tummy glows a blue light and the space it takes on my desk is so little. This is a perfect fit for work desk area. The speaker is 4.50inch wide and to the top of the bold head its also 4.50inches. BUT the total height with the antenna is 11 inches. I was concerned that with the overhead cabinet in my cube that it would be too tall, but its not because you can FOLD down the antenna towards the back and it will stand 7 inches total with it folded down (the piece for the Ipod holder is the added inches). The Ipod on the stand with the antenna folded down in the back is a total of 9 inches. I am recommending this to any cube workers out there for the size, sound and look that is very cool. Buy it and have fun!
This is great. June 24, 2006 14 out of 14 found this review helpful
I got this about the same time that I got my iPod, so that I can listen to it while at work, and it's fantastic. The sound quality is good, and it has plastic holders that will hold your iPod in place (there's (I think) four holders in a bag, and all you have to do is get the one that fits your particular model), so, you don't have to worry about your iPod getting knocked off or anything. Plus, it's kinda fun in its sci-fi/robot design. The only thing I would suggest is to watch out for the little pads that are on the end of the legs. One of them fell off when I first took the iWoofer out of the packaging, and it took a while (and another set of eyes) to relocate.
