Great companion to Nike + iPod October 24, 2006 23 out of 23 found this review helpful
This recently released item is a superior alternative to Nike's case for the Nano designed to be used with the Nike + iPod running system. It consists of two parts: the case for the Nano with the Nike receiver and the velcro pouch for the Nike sensor that attaches to the shoe. Both items have sufficient velcro to make a tight fit. The case is mainly designed to go around the wrist, which makes it easy to look at while running, but an extra velcro band is included so it will fit around most arms. The case designed by Nike has one major (and, one would think, obvious) flaw: there's no clear cover, so the Nano screen cannot be seen. This case and the pouch (which aleviates the need to purchase a Nike + iPod shoe) should be welcomed by many who use the Nike + iPod running system. Thanks Marware!
Excellent case at a great price, and it comes with a shoe wallet! April 10, 2007 13 out of 13 found this review helpful
This convenient case is designed to house your second generation iPod nano with the Nike+iPod receiver attached to it. It attaches around your wrist using velcro. You also get an extension which lets you attach it around your arm, and a shoe wallet specially designed to fit the Nike+iPod shoe sensor which attaches on your shoelaces with velcro.
No product is perfect, and I have a few minor quibbles with this: first, you can't access the docking port while the iPod is in the case, so you have to take it out of the case everytime you need to charge or sync your iPod (or upload your run data), and it's not that easy because of the tight fit. Second, the "hold" slider at the top of the nano is difficult to operate because there is no cut-out for it. Then again, this increases your iPod's protection against dirt and sweat, so I suppose that's the trade-off we have to make. Finally, a tiny pouch to store the headphones would have been a nice addition.
Despite these very minor points, this product deserves a five star rating. It's by far the most convenient case I have used to run with my nano; as other reviewers have mentioned, the Nike is more expensive, can only attach around your arm, lacks an opening for the screen, and obviously doesn't come with a shoe wallet for the sensor (since Nike wants you to buy its expensive shoes instead).
Sportsuit Relay is great for running! December 9, 2006 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I took the sportsuit out for a run today for the first time... and I must say I'm impressed. The design held my ipod 2nd gen. & Nike+ receiver securely... it's also great to have the option to wear on arm or wrist with supplied extender (I wore on my upper forearm and if felt great). This also comes with the shoe pouch for the electronic pedometer shoe sensor for the Nike+ system. The only thing that I think is a slight negative is... it isn't very "user friendly" to remove the ipod as it is a pretty snug fit. Overall I'm happy but I can't say how long before product wears out since I just got.
A great wristband for the Nike+ kit March 30, 2007 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I got an ipod and Nike+ kit for my birthday with the Nike armband. I loved it, but could not get the hang of using it with the Nike armband. I ended up carrying it with me when I ran. This wristband works great and fits the ipod with the receiver (alot of armbands/wristbands that I looked at would not fit the ipod with the receiver in it. I just got this one and have only used it once, but it worked great and was very comfortable!
Awesome Sportsband March 28, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I recently bought the sportsband for my nano ipod to go with the sports kit, and it's great. It's much better than the nike armband imo because you can actually see the screen and you don't have to buy the (ugly) 100 dollar shoes. Also, I don't have to worry now about my ipod falling out like other bands, and the transmitter/receiver thing is safely snugged inside the pouch while running. One thing though is because im running and sweating, it makes it a lil difficult to adjust the volume but thats expected with any band and sweaty hands. Other than that its perfect. I definitely would suggest this to anyone who doesnt want to buy the nike armband and shoe.
