Works Great October 8, 2007 10 out of 11 found this review helpful
I had a Belkin transmitter. I bought it because it had a broad range of stations and I live in Cleveland,OH where there is FM saturation. With the Belkin, even when stations had no "signal" there was still a low hiss or transmitter hum because the FM transmitter signal was weak. With the Kensington the FM transmitter signal is very strong and I have no problems when I am on frequencies that have no "signal" and can sometimes even use it on frequencies that have a weak signal from a distant station. I have had no problem setting the presets. I would buy it again.
Great FM Transmitter March 8, 2007 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
Before I purchased this FM Transmitter I had an iPod with an iTrip that connected directly to the iPod. The iTrip would waste a lot of the battery and the reception in my 01 Ford Taurus was horrible. I had to constantly move the iPod around or just hold it to get a decent reception. I finally bought this transmitter and it's great. I don't have to move the iPod around and the batter life is so much better now because the transmitter uses the power from the cigarette lighter. The reception is great. There has been times when it's transmitted a clear signal over some of the local radio station. I would highly recommend this product for anyone who wants to transmit there music from any mp3 player through there car radio.
Awesome!!!! May 5, 2007 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I read the other reviews about this product prior to purchasing and was amused by the widely varying degrees of satisfaction that other people had with this product.
This is one of the best purchases I have made in a while. Quite simply; it works!!!!Without reading the instructions, I literally pluged it in, set the car radio to an open station, tuned the transmitter to that station, plugged it into my MPS player's headphone jack and have been listening problem-free ever since.
Buy it, you won't regret it.
Works fine August 21, 2007 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
This thing is does its job pretty well. Interface is simple/fine and the signal is near as I can tell strong enough. I can detect a slight loss between a standard FM station and the audio coming through this Kensington, but believe me it is very slight relative to what is lost going to FM anyway. It is insignificant enough that I'm still giving 5 stars.
A couple reviews have said the signal is not strong enough - I suspect this is from people who live in big cities where FM radio traffic is very dense and the signal gets cut down (I live in Cedar Rapids Iowa where it is not as dense but I still change frequencies at night sometimes when distant signals interfere more). I have a Toyota Corolla and would estimate about 6 feet of distance the signal has to go (through the metal roof).
This thing lets you transmit on any FM frequency by the way... not just 88.1 through 90.1 as I've seen some 5 channel devices advertise.
Great product! April 26, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I had purchased a cheaper transmitter for "all" mp3 players. I did manage to get it to work on one frequency if I didn't move anything. My coworker bought this Kensington and brought it in for me to try out with my Sansa mp3 player. It worked great on every frequency that didn't have a strong station on it already. For what it's worth, my car does have a full antenna in the front. There was a little static on some frequencies, but I think that you have to accept less than perfect quality when dealing with these transmitters. Overall, it was a breath of fresh air after that first piece of junk I bought!
