DLO TransDock Micro - A Great Addition to any Ipod April 26, 2006 9 out of 10 found this review helpful
I purchased the DLO TransDock Micro in order to be able to listen to my 60 GB Video Ipod as I drive around in my vehicle. After using this device for about a month now, I am extremely pleased with its performance. The audio coming through my vehicle's radio using this device with my Ipod is outstanding, with no hiss or other interferences. I prefer this device over other FM transmitters/chargers because it allows you to place your Ipod just about anywhere in your vehicle where it is convenient, due to the long cord on the device. The use of the cord on this device, as compared to other FM transmitters which require you to place your Ipod in/on the device, also allows me to keep the protective case on my Ipod at all times. The DLO TransDock Micro is a great addition to any compatible Ipod.
Poddin' on the road March 8, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I started looking for a mobile Ipod charger, but this DLO micro promised so much more functionality, I decided to try it. Unlike most mobile units, it also permits easy use of both my "Shuffle" and 30g Ipod.
It took a little experimenting with FM frequency to find the clearest channel, but that is the case with any similar device. This works great and I use it every day with either the "Shuffle" for music or the other Ipod for larger files.
I was hesitant... September 27, 2006 But this device performs as promised. Though not quite CD quality, it is darn close. I didn't think I would be able to find an empty radio station (I live in radio-saturated Long Island), but I was able to use one of the default presets. And it installed very easily. Definitely highly recommended.
Best I've used December 18, 2006 After first trying the iTrip, and then another charger/transmiter combo that had 8 available stations, this is by far the best I've used. It plugs into my '06 VW just fine. I've not had any problems with the hinge or removing and re-inserting it because I don't--it stays plugged in and in the same position 24/7. I first used this on a road trip from Philadelphia to Niagara Falls, and I was always able to find a clear station to use. The design is compact and inobtrusive. I'm buying another one for my dad to use in his car.
Great little gadget! December 26, 2006 I bought this over 6 months ago and still absolutely love it. I drive a Honda Civic and the TransDock fits just fine in my outlet. I've been using it with the iPod shuffle, but I love that I can use it with my new Nano or any other mp3 player I want. That makes for a very versatile gadget!
The sound quality is far better than any other FM transmitter I've heard. Of course it won't be CD quality, but it does the job well. I've had no problem finding an empty radio station even in a large city (88.3 works for me just about everywhere so far.) You just have to remember to a)set your radio station to the exact same station on the TransDock, and b)adjust the volume on your mp3 player and THEN use your car radio dials to turn the volume up a bit more if necessary.
I'm very satisfied with it and it has made me a fan of DLO products. However, I'd definitely recommend the TransDock Micro over the other transmitters DLO makes. This one is just a better buy as you can use it with more than one kind of iPod or mp3 player.
