This is an awesome product! We bought the Allton one first, thinking it was a bit more stylish... but it was horrible. The battery compartment was on the bottom, instead of the top like this one, and drops of water from your hands would fall on the countertop and get inside the unit. It shorted out within a month. It's for use near a sink... there will be water on the counter ocassionally! This one puts the battery at the top, so there's no problem. Also, the Allton doesn't have an off button, so every night when you turn out the lights, it shoots out soap all over the counter. The Brookstone is far superior and works like a charm! Love it!!

Setting Up - Takes about two minutes. I recommend doing the battery install and filling the bottom portion first, this way is less messy and you are ready to go after filling the priming tube.
Operation - Works perfectly, the infrared waits until you are really close, switch on back has low/high for amount.
Problems - None, read other review about batteries dying in two days, not happening to mine.
This design blends in perfectly with my stainless kitchen. When handling chicken I don't have to touch something to get my soap. The piece is well machined and has a solid feel to it.

This thing rocks! It's battery operated and easy to use. It has switch you can set to "off," "low" or "high" to control the amount of soap dispensed. I haven't had any problems with my unit. I use Method hand soap.
I gave it five stars, but I would like to see one improvement. The unit has no feet on the bottom, so the base is in direct contact with the counter. The base underneath seems to be made of some styrofoam-like material, but I want a little more water resistance. Given how rough things could get around my sink, I would have prefered that the base not make direct contact with my counter. I glued on some tiny feet that raise the unit a hair above the surface of the counter.
I have no real complaints. I also have an iTouchless trash can, so now I don't have to worry about contaminating anything when I cook. It's amazing how these products have improved life in my kitchen.

This is such a welcome addition to our kitchen.It's so easy to refill and holds a good amount of liquid hand soap.We love the no-touch feature, keeps germ contact to a minimum. I'm delighted that I no longer have to struggle with filling the through-the-sink dispenser, I think I'll replace that with a spray hose.

simple, easy and effective. You can get hands dirty while cooking or whatever and avoid making the sink and faucet the dirtiest surfaces in the house. Fantastic and I encourage all to get one!
