Product Description Blue, Squirt P4, Mini Pocket Tool With Pliers & Wire Cutters, Features Externally Opening Implements, Blue Anodized Scales, Tool Includes Knife, Screwdrivers, Awl & File, Closed Length Is 2-inches, No Sheath Required, Made In USA With Domestic & Foreign Parts.
Amazon.com Product Description Leatherman's Squirt P4 is an amazingly compact multitool, measuring a mere 2-1/4 inches in length and weighing less than 2 ounces. But for such a tiny unit, the Squirt packs a lot of tough, functional tools--needle-nose pliers, a straight knife, a file, a bottle opener, wire cutters, an awl, and three screwdrivers. All the tools are made of high-grade stainless steel and come protected and housed within colorful anodized handles. The tool butterflies open to access the spring-action pliers; all the other tools are easily accessed from the outside of the Squirt and snap readily into place. A lanyard attachment makes it easy to fasten the Squirt to a key ring. Leatherman also covers this mighty little guy with a 25-year warranty. -- Jon Groebner

Micra vs Squirt November 8, 2006 22 out of 23 found this review helpful
I love this little Leatherman! I've had mine attached to my keys for about 3 years and it is still going strong. I have the "S4" version with the scissors instead of pliers. When I saw that someone said the Micra was a better value, I had to come to the defense of the Squirt. Take it from someone who knows, the Squirt far surpasses the value of the Micra. I had gone through 2 Micras before I found the Squirt.
--Scissors Spring-- Micra - After a month or two it was so gummed up that the scissors would stay shut and would not open on their own. This was main reason I went through them so fast. Squirt - Still springing after years, much more force behind this one.
--Scissor Grip-- Micra - When doing some serious cutting, the sharp metal frame and tools will start to slice into your hand. Squirt - Thicker frame to house the tools on the outside lessens so it will not hurt your hand.
--Paint-- Micra - Start to flake and chip off after a month or so. (If you had to get one, get the stainless steel finish) Squirt - Storm gray paint has scratched off but no big flakes like the Micra. The paint is bound to go through some serious wear and tear when on a keychain so some scratches are to be expected.
--Size-- Micra - Small Squirt - Smaller
If you were thinking of getting the Micra, spend the extra 5 bucks and get a knife that is 5 times better.
Compact and ultimately useful February 7, 2007 14 out of 14 found this review helpful
I've owned my "Squirt" for about 3 years and keep it in my front pocket constantly.
The PLIERS are strong enough for most applications that the jaw size can handle. That includes, in my case, loosening the battery bolts on my car after my battery went dead in a parking lot. Also great for things around the house like tightening the cable connection on the back of the TV.
The KNIFE blade is only sharpened on one side and is very short so it serves a very limited range of use. Be careful as it is not a lock blade but it works well for cutting string and small wires.
The FILE has a grit sufficient for light tasks but should be cleaned after each use since the grit is on the fine side.
The SCREWDRIVERS have sufficient size to take the place of much larger tools. I wouldn't apply too much torque since they are attached to such a small tool but they work well for most applications. The Phillips head is actually an pointed blade rather than a round traditional phillips head. I've tried it in quite a few screw sizes. It doesn't work well to loosen very tight screws but is still quite handy.
The AWL is one of the most overlooked tools on the squirt. It works as an expedient hole punch in the office, works great for punching holes in leather or canvas and is a great fingernail grooming tool in a pinch.
The CAN OPENER is very, very small and can be difficult to use on bottle caps but it does the job.
A few notes about care. This tiny tool is usually kept in a pocket and gets very clogged with lint as would any other tool. I clean mine frequently just to keep all of the parts working. I've washed it in water and Dawn dishwashing liquid and haven't had any problems with rust but I would not put it in a dishwasher. The finish is suprisingly durable and mine has a few knicks and scratches that give it a bit of character.
Finally, I definitely recommend this tool. Although on the expensive side, people forget that it is very expensive to design "micro" tools that can handle multiple tasks. The construction is more solid than most items of its size. I try to carry a mini-flashlight and this tool with me wherever I go and the tool has more than paid for itself.
SQUIRT February 22, 2007 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
I own three (3) of the Leatherman Squirts (plier models) and highly reccomend them. The squirt is durable and is good for a variety of tasks. The pliers, although small, have the power of a larger pair of pliers. The wire cutters in the pliers really do work. Their small size is useful to get into tight spaces. Having a useful multi-tool that doesn't require a sheath is useful in an office where some people get nervous when they see a knife on somebody's belt.
I'd like to see Leatherman come out with a multi-tool between the size of the squirt and the juice. I've used Gerber and Leatherman multi-tools. Leatherman is sturdier - and made in the USA.
Great Pocket Tool September 2, 2006 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I use to carry a full sized leatherman wave on my belt. The Squirt is perfect replacement. I still have a multi-function tool on me at all times, but it is my keychain. I have gotten more utility out of this tiny tool than expected and am 100% satisfied.
Great Item April 10, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I am constantly finding myself in situations where a small tool can make a big difference. The Leatherman 80040003K Squirt P4 Glacier Blue Multitool with Small Pliers is the best solution I have found to these situations. I've only had mine for a month, but have used it over five times.
