Product Description Are you straining your back, neck, shoulders and hands lifting plywood, drywall and other heavy sheet goods? You don't have to anymore with the Gorilla Gripper! It is an essential new gripping hand tool designed for lifting, carrying and moving a variety of building materials that are large, unwieldy and heavy...such as panels of plywood, particle board, wallboard, melamine, glass, granite, marble and much more, all with surprising ease. Gorilla Gripper handles sheet goods from 3/8 inch to 1 1/8 inch thick. Gorilla Gripper simply slips over the center of the panel you want to carry. When you lift, it grips using the weight of the material to add super strength to your grip. You'll be amazed at how easily you are able to lift the panel. The leverage created by the Gorilla Gripper makes it easy to carry these panels from place to place with increased control and unobstructed field of vision....making these kinds of tasks dramatically less difficult. Gorilla Gripper significantly reduces the stress and potential of injuries to your fingers, wrists and back. It also reduces physical fatigue.

NO BRAINER purchase March 1, 2007 19 out of 19 found this review helpful
i just discovered this tool the other day while trolling the woodworking forums, watched the video (BTW, the second video on the website is HYSTERICAL) and bought it online. i received the gripper within three days, went in the garage, clamped it on top of a sheet of MDF and started waltzing around with it as a smile crept over my face. anyone who has to deal with sheet goods (drywall, melamine, plywood, tile backerboard) on a hobbyist, DIY'er or professional basis should seriously consider this purchase as an insurance against: smashed fingers/toes and strained backs. i eagerly look forward to the next time i go to home depot and have to pick up and load 10 sheets of melamine by myself!
One trick pony, but a good trick. October 2, 2007 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I bought this when a broken hand turned me into a one-handed carpenter. I would definitely recommend going to the manufacturer's website and watching the video. I didn't find it quite as hilarious as other posters, but that's beside the point. What it does in that video, it does in real life. If you will be doing those sorts of actions, this tool will be a real help. The ability to grip a sheet of 3/4 ply at the top, in the center, and carry it on your shoulder without twisting, bending or straining, walking normally, is a real nice thing, especially if you need to get a bunch of ply from one end of a jobsite to another through doorways. No more stooping. That said, it's pretty useless going up stairs.
Like I said in the title, it isn't versatile, but it is really good at what it does do. It is not cheap, so I would not recommend it to a DIY'er, but it's the kind of thing that as a pro, you can throw in the back of your truck and know it will eventually pay for itself.
Great Product-Great Gift for the Home Handyman! January 7, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
My husband saw this product on "Cool Tools" on the DIY Channel..and had to have it! It made the perfect Christmas gift for him and it REALLY WORKS! If you have to lift and load any plywood, drywall, etc. and carry it for any distance, this product really does the trick! Highly recommended for anyone working in construction.

Oh my gosh! This thing works as good as advertised. If you ever have the need to work alone and carry full sheets of plywood or siding, when a helping hand is unavailable, you can get it done with this. The weight of the item does not go away, but it sure makes it easy to balance and carry the load with one hand, or two. I bought it to give to my friend as a birthday gift, but since I am in the middle of a project and I need it, I only showed it to him and told him he will have to wait.

I was sheathing a roof by myself and needed to bring sheets of plywood up a ladder. hook this thing on and you are good to go. would have been impossible otherwise.
