Product Description I enjoy fried chicken, platanos, tempura, and sweet potato fries but I've been avoiding them because they're deep fried and deep fried foods are supposed to be unhealthy. But now Salton and George Foreman seem to have a conjured up a way for me to enjoy those foods without distress. The new George Foreman GSF026B Spinning Deep Fryer deep fryer uses a proprietary Smart Spin technology to remove the fat delivering perfectly fried foods that are crispy and crunchy on the outside and soft and warm on the inside.

I can eat fried foods again! November 24, 2008 15 out of 17 found this review helpful
Fried foods with less fat? sounded too good to be true but my curiosity got the best of me and I tried it. WOW! I can finally TASTE the food again instead of the oil! I tried onion rings and I don't lie when I say my fingers had no oil when I was done (try this at any restaurant and you have to get up and wash your hands!). French fries were also good and crispy. I did these 2 in HIGH speed for the smart spin.
I also made empanadas and croquettes (both family favorites) but I did them in LOW spin speed. None of my foods were crushed so don't worry about that part! Even wontons made it perfect.
I thought it was easy to use - not too many controls and I got it all set in a few minutes. It heated the oil very fast (it also has a light to let you know it is ready) and it did not take long at all to be "ready" again between batches.
I put all the parts I could remove in the dishwasher -which is actually OK- and cleaned the others with a paper towel.
If you thought fried foods were out of your life... THINK AGAIN and try this! You'll taste the difference in the first bite.
This machine is great! November 26, 2008 10 out of 11 found this review helpful
We just got this fryer and tried it for the first time tonight. We made deep fried zucchini and stuffed jalapeno poppers. The machine was easy to use, heated up quickly and the zucchini came out very crispy! And not greasy at all, which was very nice!
We made the mistake of spinning the poppers on high and they lost a lot of their cheese and got squashed (these were homemade, hollowed out peppers filled with cheese and battered, not the frozen kinds) but we know for next time to spin them on low. But they were still tasty and crispy!
Other than the fact we got cheese in the fryer basket, cleanup also was pretty easy.
I give it 5 stars since it worked really well! The only problem we had was our fault (not sure what made us think that the cheese would actually stay inside the pepper :)
I look forward to using this machine a lot!
A great fryer. Heads above other enclosed fryers. December 21, 2008 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
I was a bit skeptical when I first tried this product. I knew it would do a decent job of actually cooking the food, but the thought of spinning the food to remove excess fat seemed gimmicky. After trying this, though, I know it is a recipe for delicious fried food.
The unit is well made and sturdy. It is very heavy for it's size and has rubberized grips on the bottom as well as small suction cups to keep it in place. Three controls for cooking time, temperature, and spinning time are down the front of the face as well as a flip switch for speed of the spinning. It has three settings. Off, low, and high.
A somewhat hard to use release button opens the top of the fryer and a easy to remove basket that is somewhat smallish comes out. It can be removed for easy cleaning, sit above the oil or be immersed in the oil.
The immersed heating elements heat the oil to an optimum 375 rather quickly. A light alerts when it is heated.
I cooked frozen mozerella sticks, mushrooms, and onion rings. All cooked in a matter of minutes. Once done, I raised the fry basket and spun for the time suggested in the enclosed manual. I then removed the food and found that they were crispy, cooked through, and not very greasy at all. I would say they were restaurant quality fried. Crispy, brown, and not greasy at all. I was very impressed.
With all fryers like this, cleanup can be a big of a pain, depending on what you cook, and is no worse and probably a bit easier than most.
Overall this is a well built quality unit that does a great job of frying. The spinning actually removed the fat very well.
My only complaint was that the lid release button was a bit stiff and hard to work. It would be nice if it were easier to open the lid. Otherwise a great product from George Foreman!
Now you can have fried food again! December 23, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is some kitchen appliance-it's big, stylish and wonderful! Storage may be an issue for some due to it's size and weight. I had to go to the grocery store after it arrived Saturday for real (not baked) frozen onion rings. I used Spectrum filtered coconut oil and after this machine did it's magic, they seemed only minimally greasy while additionally draining on 7th Gen. paper towels. I devoured those semi-healthy onion rings-worth every calorie. My taste buds were in heaven as I only eat these maybe twice a year at a restaurant. Then on Sunday I made breaded fried shrimp but had oven baked french fries and a healthy coleslaw. The shrimp turned out great. My next attempt will be either homemade apple fritters or fried doughnuts for Christmas morning. I am really enjoying this machine and hope its use doesn't add too many additional pounds to my hips. It just seems fried foods go well w/ the winter season. I found it very easy to use and most importantly it seemed to do what it claimed on fat retention reduction. It is really such a treat to have fried food. Clean up wasn't bad, but I will need to think about saving the oil for reuse. I guess I will label and store it according to foods cooked. I may get adventurous and try to make thin sweet potato chips cooked in olive oil like the ones available at the health food store. Also worth noting is this appliance has a 2 year warranty vs. the usual one year GF offers on his other appliances (I still have my old original white grill that faithfully works; trashed GF's first big grill w/ dishwasher safe removable plates;I didn't like the indoor/outdoor grill either as it didn't get hot enough to sear, and I still enjoy my roaster (discontinued) which still makes the best baked rosemary whole chicken). I think if you take reasonable care of this appliance it it will provide years of use.
It works! November 26, 2008 6 out of 9 found this review helpful
Honestly this works great! I can really taste the food (without the oil) and enjoy my fried favorites without all the guilt. I tried onion rings - they were perfect and very crisp with a bonus: no fat! Then I tried french fries: way better than McDonalds! Chicken wings? just the way they should be! Juicy and delicious! My wife did all of these on the HI speed for spin and there was no crumbling. She also cooked some shrimp and veggies (yes, fried veggies - go figure!) and she loves them too. The fryer was also easy to clean - dishwasher! The oil heated up in just minutes and was OK to go through all the batches (no need to wait for the oil to heat up again). Go back to fried food without the guilt...and it's a George Foreman so you know it works!
