Product Description Great food takes time? something you just don't have. KitchenAid's patient slow cooker does most of the work for you, gently heating the most tender roasts and sumptuous stews you've ever tasted. Just fill the 7-quart ceramic pot with your favorite ingredients, program the 10-hour timer with digital display and let the 400-watt heating element slowly simmer your meal to perfection. The 5-setting cook and serve control keeps food warm until it's ready to serve. Hassle-free one-year replacement warranty.

Kitchen Aid Slow Cooker January 6, 2009 Kitchen Aid Slow Cooker The unit developed a crack in the crock that goes inside the cooker within 10 minutes of turning it on for the first time. Several other buyers had reported the same problem but my wife insisted on buying the unit. We just packed it up and sent it back to Amazon.com. I also sent an e mail to Kitchen Aid to tell them that they should not allow their good name to be damaged by selling such poor products.
Crock Problems January 2, 2009 We have used this cooker no more than a half dozen times in the first year and have gone through two crocks.
After as little as three uses our crock develops hairline cracks. The cooker itself seems to be of high quality but the crock has some serious flaws.
KitchenAid replaced the first crock with no questions asked. I just spoke with their customer service and again, even though the unit is out of warranty, they will replace the crock with no expense to me.
I would rate KitchenAid customer service 5 stars, the cooker 4 stars, and the crock 0 stars
This is one Happy Cooker! December 21, 2008 The Kitchen Aid Slow Cooker has arrived. It is gorgeously red and is one Happy Cooker!
Best Slow Cooker. It cracked, but warranty service is excellent December 18, 2008 This is the best slow cooker I've used or heard of. We had a cheap (under $20) Rival model before; it got too hot and the lid did not seal tightly. Everything came out dry and scorched.
The Kitchenaid slow cooker has nice even heat, and most importantly has a really nice tight-fitting lid with silicone seal. All the flavor is trapped inside. Food comes out tender and delicious. This thing works very well . . . probably worth the money.
Caveat: after several months of use, the crockpot cracked. I called Kitchenaid and they sent me a new crock no questions asked. The new one cracked on the first use. I called and they Fed-ex'd an entire new unit and a prepaid box to send back the old one. Awesome service! So far, the new one is working great. I think they may have tweaked the design, the new one is slightly different than the old one (changes to the lid) so I think maybe they addressed the problem. Will update if this one fails.
Bottom line: It's the best slow cooker. The crock may crack on you, but the company stands behind their product.
Great Crockpot December 16, 2008 This is a great "crockpot" slow cooker. I love it. But my ceramic inner shell cracked the same as it did for many other people. If you go to Kitchen aid's website (forum) you'll see what I mean. Anyway, it was 15 minutes into the first use of it and I heard a loud pop. I knew right away what is was but I let it keep cooking anyway. I use the "crockpot" liners (http://www.amazon.com/EZ-PANS-Liners-Supersized-Cookers/dp/B001GDFVZO/ref=pd_bbs_sr_4?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1229432611&sr=8-4) another awesome product available at Amazon, so the crack didn't really matter. When the food was done I examined the pot and found indeed a hairline crack was there, but it was so minute and with the liners it wasn't a problem for me. I have used it 20 times since and the crack hasn't gotten any worse. I think once it cracks once, its done cracking. I called Kitchen aid and they sent me a new ceramic liner free of charge, shipping on them and it arrived in about a week. I haven't even opened the box because I plan to save it if my original one ever gets worse; but I don't think it will. Other than that, this is the best crockpot on the market. Its huge and very versatile, and will not let you down like other slow cookers on the market. Worth every penny, crack or no crack.
