Product Description The Norpro Scoop is made from sturdy 18/10 stainless steel with an easy release handle for right or left hand use. The heavy-duty spring action is perfect for releasing cold ice cream, sticky cookie dough, or mashed potatoes. A great way to make sure all your cookies or meatballs are the same size and cook evenly. The scoop has a 2 Tbsp or 1 ounce capacity.
Amazon.com Review An all-purpose scoop, this tool portions ice cream, frozen yogurt, cookie dough, meat balls, rice dishes, and vegetable pures. And it's ideal for forming pretty sherbet balls to fill dessert glasses. Its heavy-duty spring action releases food with a squeeze of the hand by sliding a thin steel band beneath it. The scoop head, 2 inches in diameter, holds 2 tablespoons. The tool measures 8-1/2 inches overall, is made of noncorrosive 18/8 stainless steel polished to a mirror finish, and is dishwasher-safe. --Fred Brack

Definitely in my "Top Ten List" of Inspired Kitchen Gadgets! November 14, 2002 13 out of 13 found this review helpful
Finally, an ice cream scoop that gets the ice cream out of its container AND then out of the scoop into the dish. Sounds like a no-brainer, right? Should be -- but this is the first scoop design I've ever used that managed both with equal ease. Most of the old-fashioned ones had a release mechanism that got the ice cream into the dish pretty well, but needed tons of hot water and the strength of 10 men and a boy to get the goodie out of its native container. More recent versions have made the container-to-scoop process less of a herculean task, but need the assistance of finger or other appendage to make it the rest of the way to the bowl. This delightful object has solved both problems. In addition, it's a God-send for baking cookies. I operate a virtual cookie factory every Christmas and have tried many techniques to speed the dough-to-baking pan transfer. Last year, I saw this scoop and its smaller (2 teaspoon) sibling at a kitchen supply place and purchased both. I was able to bang through all my drop cookies in record time -- hurrah! Whether ice cream or cookie baking is your passion, I can't think of a better way to spend 10 bucks! Enjoy!
You can use this for many things November 24, 2002 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
I can't say enough about how handy these are. I love my cookie scoop. This one is very sturdy and can take heavy use. One of the benefits of making a batch of cookies with this is that they all come out the uniform size. Uniform size helps in baking evenly and also they just look better once they start out from the same size and shape. They recommend scooping up ice cream for this, but I like the 2 tablespoon size to use when I put muffin batter into a tin, there is much less clean up!
Great cookie scoop! November 8, 2003 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
This is a perfect cookie scoop. I like to make slightly larger cookies, and this scoop gets the cookie dough out perfectly every time. Because the cookies are larger, it is a good idea to flatten each blob of dough slightly before baking. (as I did when I worked in a bakery) I have not used this scoop for anything else, because I only bought it for cookies. It does not look like it would work that great for ice cream, but I don't know. I love making cookies with it!!!
Add this to your gadget drawer! January 16, 2003 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
Don't have this yet? What are you waiting for? This is a must for any cookie baker! You'll get perfectly round cookies everytime, and without getting your hands in the dough (unless you like to taste your creations :). It's far more efficient that the old two spoon method. You'll get those cookie sheets in the oven much more quickly! This one is a good size for making chocolate chip cookies. I use the smaller one when I'm making cookies for the kids or making peanut butter balls/chocolates ... This is a great gadget to add to your drawer. Highly recommended from a frequent cookie baker.
COOKIE SCOOPER December 8, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have had this for at least 4 years now and i can't even imagine being without it. I bake cookies quite frequently and use this because it saves me time and all the cookies are uniformly the same size. You will get up to 4" cookies with this scooper and it makes great meatballs as well. I don't have any problems cleaning it or using it. I am ordering the smaller one knowing that i will have great success with it. Highly recommend every kitchen who does alot of baking.
