5 out of 5 stars What I Think About Birds & Blooms   September 7, 2004

I've been subscribing for a long time, and, because of my love of birds, flowers, and butterflies (yes, the magazine does talk a bit of butterflies), I've gotten quite into it, too. I like the mixture: Funny stories, garden and bird tips and how-to's,and MUCH more...
I love it! I know most people who read it are parents, or grandparents, but I still love it.<@..@>

5 out of 5 stars I love this magazine!   February 14, 2007
5 out of 5 found this review helpful

Very colorful photos, informative articles written by subscribers and bird watching nuts like me! Tips on feeding birds, gardening, etc. Extremely informative magazine. Not a page of it wasted. There's as much info in the magazine on "birds" as there is on "blooms" so regardless of your interest, you'll enjoy the publication. I look forward to it every other (bimonthly publication) month and have gleaned a lot of tips on attracting, feeding and identifying birds as well as planting tips for flowers.

5 out of 5 stars Good Way to Relax   May 4, 2007

I have been reading Birds and Bloom for over 8 years and I find it a delight to comb each page for descriptions of tranquil peace and simplicity. It is a way to focus your attention to something outside of your daily reality and it brings you down to earth and grabs your attention away from those superficial clouds that make up daily life. You know that you should stop and smell the roses once and a while, but while you are at it check out the whole garden and stay for a while. The rest of the world can wait. It doesnt matter if you are an expert gardener or bird watcher, the colorful photos and lively articles will draw the attention of beginers and captivate seasoned agriculturalists from Seattle to Vermont. Beauty is universal. Let the magazine speak for itself.

5 out of 5 stars Re-discovered   April 16, 2006

I was getting this magazine up untill 5 yrs ago when I started travel nursing. I settled down again with a new home and garden and hoped I would get a circular in the mail as I could not remember the name of the magazine, but it took the internet to find it. I loved it because it was about everyday people with the kind of stories, tips etc. that I could relate to. Not all huge mansions with acres and acres of land, and people, who like to get out and potter,to make mistakes (and learn from them) and to get out there and enjoy getting their hands dirty, plant seeds and flowers and enjoy the wonders of nature through the birds, insects and other creatures that come to a garden. I would read it from cover to cover and not feel cheated because I have had to pay for a magazine with 75% advertisments. Why should we pay to read adverts? Anyway so glad I have found it again and can't wait for my first issue to arrive. I do hope it has'nt changed.

5 out of 5 stars A FUN birding and flower magazine   February 10, 2006

I have been a subscriber to Birds & Blooms for over 2 years now. Each issue is loaded with beautiful photographs of different types of birds and a variety of colorful flowers. The magazine is supported heavily by contributions of its readership as many "personal" stories and pictures are published. Each issue typically has one article that focuses on a particular bird (cardinal, chickadee, etc), and then others that discuss butterflies, hummingbirds, flowers, etc. There are 6 issues per year, but they also have Birds & Blooms EXTRA to fill the off months (which I also subscribe to)! Great magazine to read and relax with!
