Product Description Twilight is an action packed, modern day love story between a vampire and a human. Bella Swan has always been a little bit different and when her mother sends Bella to live with her father in the rainy little town of Forks, Washington, she doesn't expect much of anything to change. Then she meets the mysterious and dazzlingly beautiful Edward Cullen, a boy unlike any she's ever met. Soon, Bella and Edward are swept up in a passionate and decidedly unorthodox romance. Like all vampires, he's immortal. But he doesn't have fangs, and he doesn't drink human blood. To Edward, Bella is that thing he has waited 90 years for: a soul mate. But the closer they get, the more Edward must struggle to resist the primal pull of her scent, which could send him into an uncontrollable frenzy. But what will Edward and Bella do when James, Laurent and Victoria, the Cullens' mortal vampire enemies, come to town, looking for her? This is the first movie from the book series from author Stephanie Meyer. The series are currently some of the most popular books written for young adults, with sales exceeding 50 million copies worldwide since the Twilight debut in 2004 and over 7.7 million copies sold in the U.S. alone. The fourth book in the series, Breaking Dawn, was released on August 2, 2008 and sold over 1.2 million units on the first day.
Album Description Every song on the Twilight soundtrack is featured in the movie. The soundtrack includes `Decode,' an exclusive song from Paramore written specifically for Twilight! 'I chose the title 'Decode' because the song is about the building tension, awkwardness, anger and confusion between Bella and Edward. Bella is the only mind Edward can't read and I feel like that's a big part of the first book and one of the obstacles for them to overcome. It's one added tension that makes the story even better.'-- Hayley Williams / Paramore.

It took a couple listens, but... November 18, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this soundtrack. I'm 25 and not as into alternative music as I used to be, and at first I was a little put off by the obscurity of a couple of the groups presented. I hated the Muse song & the Perry Farrell song, and didn't care for the rest of them. I contented myself listening to the Mutemath & Paramore songs over and over. Gradually though, I broke out of my rut and the rest of the album snuck in, track by track. I have listened to it nonstop since the day it came out. I am rereading Twilight now and it seems a little more real because almost every song on the soundtrack is so atmospheric, but with an edge. A couple notes: Check out Bella's Lullaby composer Carter Burwell's blog. He tells the story of how the song was born, and how he never wanted it to be called Bella's Lullaby, because he wrote it as 'Love Theme'. He talks of the studio wanting a sweet little piano piece, which he could not provide. He never intended for the whole piece to become the Lullaby and feels that it will inevitably disappoint those expecting the sweet, simple piano melody.
Rob Pattinson's music is not a highlight here. I was impressed by his talent, and agree wholeheartedly with the comparisons to Jeff Buckley. However, there is not much substance here, and his great vocal talent is lost under his mumbling. It fits in with the soundtrack because it is so atmospheric, but try to remember that he is not an experienced recording artist.
Bottom line: You are missing out if you don't get this soundtrack.
In my opinion... November 10, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I think overall the soundtrack is great. I am happy with my purchase. The only song I can't stand to listen to is "Go All The Way" by Perry Farrell. The lyrics are beyond Cheesy making it painful for me to listen to. I DID listen to it all the way through a few times trying to be objective about it but...ooh the cheese! It has a nice beat but that's all the praise I have for it. Bella's lullaby is pretty. Not what I expected, but it's still beautiful to listen to. Now last but not least Rob Pattinson's song...I really like it, the melody is great and he has a good soothing voice. I just wish I could understand what he is saying. Is it just me or is everyone else having a problem deciphering it? Maybe I need my ears cleaned!
Twilight Soundtrack Rocks! November 9, 2008 This is a great movie soundtrack. I think I have heard some of these songs before but never really paid that much attention to them, but in the Twilight universe, you not only pay attention, you feel a connection between the story and the music right away.
Incredible November 10, 2008 I don't know why people would think that the soundtrack to this movie wouldn't contain a fairly large amount of techno driven tracks... I mean Stephanie Meyers herself said she was driven by them when she was writing it. I love this soundtrack, it's nice and fresh, not the same processed groups you see in techno driven soundtracks over and over again. Rob Pattinson is a fresh voice, and creativeness that is needed for this type of movie soundtrack. One of a kind sountrack for a one of a kind movie, isn't that how it should?? I am completely pleased with what I've heard here, and will listen to it more and more as the release date approaches.
Well worth the money!!! November 13, 2008 I, as well as many have read all four books in the Twilight series. Great!! Great!!! Wonderful!! I am a number one fan. To me this CD fits the element of the books, kind of dark and gray. The Paramore songs are good as well as the Rob Pattinson song!! Very talented man. Can't wait until the movie comes out! I am sure that once we all get to see the movie, the songs will fit into place and sound even better. Stephenie Meyer you have a hit on your hands!!
