5 out of 5 stars Great Music for an Awesome Game!   January 3, 2009
So I noticed a lot of people didn't take the time to actually READ the track list. You can see the track lists on all 4 Halo cd's right here on the page so it shouldn't be any surprise that H2 vol 1 isn't there. That being said, yeah it would have been nice to know that the 5th disc was the Halo Wars bonus dvd.

Love the tracks though. Love the box set and love the preview of Halo Wars.

5 out of 5 stars Wow!!!   December 2, 2008

Upon tearing off the shrink wrap I opened up this beautiful tri-fold boxset which revealed 5 discs(one DVD)of all the Halo music titles with the exception of Halo 2 (which I own already). The Halo Wars preview music and game clips that were on the DVD were a great bonus and have me pumped in anticipation of the up coming game. I can't stop watching it! And loading my CD player with the 4 music titles gives me hours of Halo delite!!! If your as much as a fan of the Halo music as I am, this classy boxset is for you!!!

4 out of 5 stars Not Complete, But Great.   December 14, 2008

I've been waiting for some sort of boxed set to come out. I love all the music in the series, and I've played the games as well.

Now, some aspects of this boxed set are a little disappointing. For instance, this set doesn't include all the originally released soundtracks. Also there isn't any literature about the music or the games included. All the credits are printed on the inside parts of the box though.

On the positive side, the set comes with a bonus DVD with a Halo Wars sneak peek and preview of the upcoming title's music. The only problem with that is the fact this is supposed to be the Halo Trilogy Complete Original Soundtracks. Not the 'most of the music plus a bit of other game music' collection.

Overall, though, I am satisfied with my purchase. This will make carrying around my favorite soundtracks a lot easier.

I hope in the future we will see another collection, with the COMPLETE soundtracks and literature about the music and games.

3 out of 5 stars Not "Complete"   December 4, 2008

I was incredibly disappointed to open this package up and discover that Halo 2, Disc 1 was NOT included. It is NOT a "complete" set of soundtracks. If I had known that a disc would be missing, I would have just bought all the soundtracks separately!

2 out of 5 stars Extremely Disappointment   December 25, 2008
I was disappointed to find that the Trilogy only contained Disc 2 of Halo 2's music, which in my opinion is the lesser of the 2 disc. Microsoft didn't even make an attempt to hide fact its disc 2. It's say Halo 2 Volume 2 right on the disc.

I figured the bonus DVD was worth the price though, but I was wrong. The bonus DVD contains 2 videos. The first is a montage of clips with people working music soundboards to a Halo Wars song. The second is only half of the Halo Wars Intro video that can be found on the web. The rest of the DVD contains 4 mediocre Halo Wars songs. If it had contained even one piece of unseen Halo Wars video I would have considered it a win, but it doesn't.

I've never said this about Halo before, but I was extremely disappointed. Also the case was very cheaply made. I recommend that everyone buy the HALO soundtracks individually.
