I have an 8-year-old German Shepherd who started dragging her back leg. Not a lot but enough to wear her nails down until they bleed when we go for walks or play in the back yard. She used to fetch the ball 20 times (we are on a big lot) but started giving up after 2 or 3 times. The vet said she didn't seem to be in any joint pain, her hips were good, but she may have had a mild stroke causing the leg to drag. He said the raw nail would be causing her a lot of discomfort, as you would expect. I tried getting her footgear from the local pet mart places but they were very poor quality and fit and she did not like having them on at all. I finally came across these and liked how they were shaped like the dogs foot. The day they arrived I put them on her and she did not fuss at all. It was as if she didn't even know she had them on. The first day she had a full play session of 20 and we went on a walk. She was as happy as I was. Her foot is now protected when we play or go for walks and her nail is starting to grow back and look normal. These great booties made all the difference in her quality of life. A great design.
