Product Description Improve your flexibility and add to your stretching routine with the HealthMark Portable Ballet Barre. These core stretching bars are the perfect fitness equipment for those looking to increase ligament and tendon strength, or even as a simple helper for core stretching exercises. With a solid 5" circumference metal bar that sits on metal supports which can be adjusted to 6 different heights, the HealthMark body stretch bar can be used as stand-alone fitness equipment or as a compliment to an already existing regimen. Dual-locking pop pins with internal safety locks and a 24" wide base with rubber supports on each leg give the HealthMark core exerciser balance bar extra stability, making pull-ups as feasible as plie squats.

Great Workouts December 13, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
After purchasing the Lotte Berk Method cd's, I realized that I wasn't getting the full effect of the program. So, I decided to invest in a ballet barre.
I hesitated a long time before making this purchase because my one rule of thumb regarding exercise equipment is to not spend a lot of money. I can become very enthusiastic about a project, buy a lot of equipment and lose interest.
In the end though, the aforementioned exercise routine is very, very effective; so I threw caution to the wind and bought the barre.
Let me say, first of all, it is very, very heavy. I had to get it up the the second floor& I still don't know how I managed it by myself. It comes in two boxes. One box contains the base and the other contains the upright and cross bars.
Once I got it upstairs, I realized, in this instance, heavy is good. I can perform all of the routines without feeling the barre will tip over. You can adjust the height of the apparatus but its a little tricky. However, once you have it set, you probably won't have to adjust it again.
I recommend this barre as well as the Lotte Berk exercise routines.
