Best All Starr Band DVD release so far, IMO July 31, 2008 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
In my opinion. this is the best DVD from Ringo and his All Starr Band yet. One of the big reasons for that is the fact that this is a complete show. Previous All Starr Band DVD releases were incomplete. Another big reason for the high quality of this DVD is that this band really cooks. I have never been a big fan of Richard Marx or Billy Squier, but I must admit that this 2006 All Starr lineup is a very definite improvement over the 2003 lineup with John Waite and Paul Carrack. There are numerous musical highlights on this DVD. Be sure to check out the way the whole band rocks out on Marx's "Should've Known Better." I never thought of this song, or any Richard Marx song, as a rocker. But the whole band really burns on this one. All in all, a terrific show that's well preserved on this DVD. Enjoy!
Excellent! July 10, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This DVD is amazing. I was there the night that it was filmed and it is just as wonderful as I remember it being. Each member of the band is an incredible musician and the solo spots are great. The interviews, although I anticipated that they would be distracting and possibly even annoying, are very entertaining and add a lot. This is a must have for any Beatle fan.
Fantastic July 9, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is how a concert should look on dvd. Unlike Sir Paul's concert dvd's, they only change the camera angles every 30 seconds, as opposed to every .03 seconds. Though it was lacking all the nice breast shots that are on Macca's. Only minor gripe is that there is a brief interview segment between every song. On the plus side, it looks like they included the entire show, 26 songs worth, even including the solo spots. Was also impressed at how good a guitarist Billy Squire is. A must have.
A fun DVD with great music July 30, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I found this lineup of all stars surprisingly good. The songs were tight and diverse. A really enjoyable DVD to watch. As a big Ringo fan, this was fun. And great music
outstanding show!! July 31, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
An easy 5-star rating here. The sound and picture quality is excellent. I'm very glad this got released on DVD. If you are a fan of classic and/or 80's rock, this is a must-have. The extras are especially interesting and depict the positive cohesiveness of the band. Well worth the money. Enjoy!!!
