Warning on subscribing through Amazon March 26, 2007 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I love this newspaper and its quality is unquestionable. However, I would like to warn potential subscribers that it has been more than seven weeks since I paid for the subscription at Amazon and I still have not received my first print yet. Considering the fact that I live in the area where newspapers are delivered promptly (at least my neighbors receive their FT and WSJ on time!), I think this delay is unacceptable. I even called the customer service several times and they are just pushing back the expected delivery date telling me to wait a little more. If you are trying to purchase your subscription through Amazon (ie cheaper than the subscription price offered by FT), consider the possibility that it could take longer than it really should.
5 Stars for the FT, Zero stars for Amazon August 6, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
If you want to stay updated on world news, this is the paper to read. It features a well balanced mix between US news and international news. I let my subscription lapse recently due to a move and felt not being well informed anymore.
However, please be advised that it takes at least 7 weeks for the first issue to arrive, not 2 to 4 weeks like stated by Amazon. Amazon customer service was extremely unhelpful when asked about this issue. They referred to their magazine customer service by Synapse - who never responded to my inquiry regarding the delivery issue. Very disappointing!
Best macroeconomic, financial market news of major financial papers October 25, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
The FT offers extraordinary coverage of macroeconomics, financial markets and international economics and trade. Far better than the Wall Street Journal or Investors Daily. Its commentators and writers are top-notch. If macro, financial markets and international economics and markets are your interest this is the paper for you. Unlike the Wall Street Journal, very little coverage of mundane subjects such as impacts of tax changes on the restaurant business, U.S. political scene and Op-Eds such as those of Jerry Falwell demanding that "intelligent design" be taught in U.S. schools.
The perfect newspaper for the financially interested June 9, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Have been a newspaper addict for more than 30 years. There is no better daily newspaper in this world. Great European touch if you live in the US. The best: articles finish on the same page they start!
If you want more than WSJ's cartoons November 9, 2001 8 out of 12 found this review helpful
I canceled my Wall Street Journal subscription after concluding that the best part was the cartoon. The articles may not have as much hype today, but if you want a good financial/global newspaper, the Financial Times is the one. There's a 4-week-free offer for new subscribers (the first time I have seen this), so make sure you take advantage of this. Even if the offer is no longer available by the time you read this, it still beats any other (daily) financial newspaper. (Business Week, a magazine favorite, is published weekly.)
